Shame? You want the NHL to keep a failed franchise in a city that doesn't support hockey? Hockey in the desert?Secret #1 in business success: Follow the moneyThe NHL is corrupt and deluded.
They're Parisians, renowned for being snooty, rude, uptight and unwelcoming. They don't like tourism to Paris much, they endure it to a point but that doesn't extend to being nice to you. Speaking French helps a little. Everyone who goes to France would do well to see the country outside of the cities, not that Paris isn't worth seeing but there's a sharp contrast in how people act between small town/rural France and Paris.

So.... you list Jason X instead of Alien as your go-to trapped in a space ship with something trying to kill you movie??
I wouldn't consider it a weapon so much as a medium and a resource. As the equalizer that enables a start-up running out of someone's garage to compete with huge corporations and enables young adults in an African village with no running water to learn the skills necessary to become network engineers, it belongs to no one. The FCC wouldn't allow ABC to run a transmitter that interfered with NBC's signal, and by the same token they shouldn't allow Comcast to throttle the bandwidth on my streaming Netflix just because they want me to pay for their crappy VOD service instead. |

I think society's perception of copyright is slowly changing. It doesn't perceive the sharing of media as morally unacceptable, despite whatever laws have been created in recent history. To share is human, and many of us are simply acknowledging this. It's unfortunate that some people, who've made their career from profiting from copyrighted works, may get caught up in the shift. In the not-too-distant future, I see a change from closed/copyrighted media creation, to independent and smaller budget works. It will mean the death of the blockbuster movie, and, heaven forbid, the death of the Britney Spears; but all in all, we'll return to a society much the same as we've had throughout history. Creativity can only thrive when we're allowed to share. Moreso, all creative works are derivatives of other creative works, no matter how unclear the link is.
