At least they're being realistic about the time line. Moller said we'd have flying cars by now (20 years ago). In the 1950's it was said that nuclear reactors would provide power for 90% of our energy needs. Here we are still using coal for power and driving non-flying cars. The type of technology mentioned in the article doesn't exist yet & when it does exist will take significant time to be implemented. For now just shut the ***** up, swallow your pride and fly Southwest.
She had a c-section. Real courage would have been not having kids when she has an inheritable disease.

The article never actually mentions commute times being reduced, they only point out that traffic has decreased 14% which is misleading. They're just dissuading people from driving into certain areas by charging them to do so. They haven't actually reduced commute times, they've just re-routed traffic away from congested areas and pointed to the empty sections, waving their hands, saying, "14%" (However you say it in Swedish.)It would be interesting to see how the average commute time has been effected because now people are driving around the tolls to avoid charges (which probably adds more commute time) and they're taking public transportation. Anyone who has ever had to seriously rely on public transportation to get to work KNOWS you can't trust any of the times they give you. Something always gets delayed along the way. This project would fail hard in a place with a greater population density. Stockholm only has about 3,000 people per square mile, compared to Manhattan's 71,000.Interesting but misleading article. Maybe they should be putting their money into updating traffic systems, getting rid of those old fixed-time traffic lights and moving onto more dynamic light systems that can adjust when traffic increases, instead of wasting time/money on creating glorified toll booths.

Uh yeah, and I thought this is why we pay taxes?I think I will cite this article everytime some idiot wants to use the "Well then if you don't want to pay taxes then I guess you don't like using public roads" argument.Looks like my taxes apparently don't pay for roads after all. |
