Don't watch Zeitgeist, watch Zeitgeist: Addendum. Much more coherent, and lays out the inherent problems with the monetary system better than C:ALS, and also provides a solution (the Venus Project, resource-based economy, high technology and automation of labor, etc.). You are free to disagree with what it says, but I can't find any rational way to deny most of the points it makes. Also, Zeitgeist: Addendum completely cuts out all the conspiracy theory ***** that the first movie is full of. If you watched the first Zeitgeist and didn't like it, but haven't watched Addendum yet, give it a try. Much more enlightening.

“This web designer you're speaking of wouldn't make enough to feed his family. The few (not really few) good ones still don't make enough money for a Jaguar.

works well against aliens too.
Odd, I thought Reagan was a television/movie actor for several decades before becoming Governor/President.Some might say even as President, his acting career never ended...!

This is the only time I'll digg one of these up.?
Your optimism is commendable but somewhat misplaced. Fact is, there's a pretty sizable slice of people around the world who think space exploration is a colossal waste of money, when we still have so much suffering and inequality on the planet we live on.My own opinion is that more money for charity is a waste, because we've learned over and over that most aid goes to the bastards who ruined the country in the first place. more aid to social programs jsut creates a dependency too. I think spending the money on an exploration program that creates a ton of useful tech that trickles into our daily lives is actually a good use of money. But many people disagree. From financial hawks, to orthodox religions of all sorts, people just don't think we should bother. It's a lot more negative now than it was - when we landed on the moon, the naysayers were a pretty small number, but now there's much more negativity towards it, even from plain old luddites who just don't like to see science triumphing in any area at all. |

Yeah, not nearly as exciting as I had hoped. In fact, it's kinda messed up. IBM comes in, implements a tax, and they are happy to report more people using mass transit? No *****, you're practically forcing them.
