Funniest part of that was the cartoon-like cop car silhouette left in the building's side. I wonder if it was driven by Office Wile E. Coyote...
I don't know anything about hockey but I loved that Wayne Gretzky hockey game for the N64.

“Well obviously it wouldn't be trivial and the system would require exhaustive testing before being deployed in the real world, but I see no reason that a suitably developed AI could not drive a car on modern roads. There is no requirement that all cars be computer-driven, although if they were it would greatly improve safety as the cars would be able to communicate with each other. In fact, a computer could do a far better job than a human. Never gets tired, impatient, or distracted. Never violates the law. Drives safely and efficiently at all times. Of course you would need extensive fail-safes to ensure it remained operational and didn't die while you were driving.

"You are basically saying that people who believe in a higher power and talk about it with their kid are lying to their children. That doesn't actually define a lie."Let's put this another way: Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin cooks up and serves a big fat lie, which you repeat loudly and often. You're saying, if I understand correctly, that you're not guilty of lying because you didn't originate the lie? Or is it that you're not guilty of lying because you believe the lie to be the truth?.
Every form of technology can be(and has been) abused by governments, even the most basic things like the wheel. So unless those who are against these technological advancements desire to become toolless bald apes hiding in caves, the proper action isn't to stifle creation, but to keep the power of government(and any entity really) in check. Elsewhere42 is on the right track reminding us of the tool we have that allows us to restrain our government. Any misuse on their part is our failure to have kept our government under control. We should not seek to hold back human achievement to prevent such harm. That would be a lazy and misguided way of going about solving this issue.!

FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: Worst. Restaurant Names. Ever.?
No, we are only shortchanged when we base decisions on arbitrary things like race or gender or religion, instead of choosing the best creative people for the job regardless of how many people currently doing the job look just like them. |

Nowhere in the article does it say it is solid. I would have guessed it was a honeycomb or similar structure.

If a drunk person is being so much of a problem that the cops are called on him, it makes perfect sense just to lock them up till they sober up. Hardly seems like a "morality" arrest(it was a beer festival after all, they don't seem to have a problem with alcohol) , more like drunk and disorderly, getting in a loud argument with a vendor. If they are otherwise an upstanding citizen, why prosecute them and crowd the court system with someone who seemed to have a temporary (though serious) lack of good judgment?

Though I agree that this is disturbing and sad...Has nobody considered the possibility that the cat needed to be fixed? I'm sure whatever it was the duct tape fixed it... |
