Just some random thoughts:- Sales drop. When everyone in a target demographic has acquired the item that's for sale, the stats show a decline. This is what happens with the iMac. This is what happens with Windows. With products (as opposed to services), eventually everyone who is going to buy one has done so. This is usually when a new product gets announced. The plummet of Wii sales is not an unusual phenomenon for a product and it's a mistake to interpret this as a failure, especially given the amazing initial sales.- People say there's no software for the Wii, but the truth is that there's a ton of software; its value depends on who you are and what you like. If you're into Call of Duty, obviously the Wii isn't for you. But I know a lot of people who simply love the Wii games, and the Mario franchise is nothing to sneeze at in terms of its bankability.- It does a lot that other consoles don't do (in particular, the controllers). This might not be of value to everyone - especially hardcore gamers - and that's fine. But it's not as if those things are of no value at all. There are a lot of people in the world who prefer Wii Sports over Halo 3. - It's the most inexpensive modern console. It's not meant to have the same features you find on consoles which are almost twice the price. It's true that the Xbox and PS3 have more horsepower and features and they also offer better hardcore games... but don't forget the majority of the purchasing public doesn't fall into that category. For this reason, the Wii is far from irrelevant.- You don't have to like the Wii. You don't have to buy a Wii. But it's a mistake to think that it's not a major player in the world of console gaming and pretend that those who buy it don't know what they're doing or that they got nothing of value.Best thing you can do for your mental health and blood pressure is to be okay with the fact that something you may not personally want or need could be of value to other (or even most) people, and relax a little.
