Obama talks Democratic while walking Republican.Sure, I was suckered, but then McCain expressly promised to be just as bad. Hopes dashed, but same bad result as no hope at all.

Seems like a good idea. The benefits from reducing congestion on existing roads in cities where building a subway is unfeasible because of possible problems with a somewhat high water table or excessive super hard bedrock making it highly expensive to tunnel would make this an attractive alternative.Unlike buses this would not be affected by already congested roads and would actually lower congestion if more drivers used this instead.I do have questions though about use say in L.A. known for earthquakes as in would a large quake rerail a car? What about if a truck hit one of the suspension towers, if the tower survived what about derailment of nearby pods and what damge would happen to people or property below when it fell?Is the an emergency cable to stop pods from falling in the first place in event of derailment? What is the cost of the infrastructure and yearly maintenance cost and what is the expected lifetime of pods and infrastructure including the power distribution equipment? Is there a possibility to get pods with areaseparators so someone can't get mugged like someone holding a knife to the throat of the person sitting in front of them? "this is for cities and robbery is a real situation that must be considered" If cost and safety can be controlled this seems like a very good idea.?
About a decade ago IBM consulting lead the practice of "virtual offices" and allowed people to work remotely from home. People would choose when to go to work and those who must be on site will use the offices of those who are not. This both cuts down people's commute time as well saving office space. I see this as a lot more revolutionary although only a few large companies outside of the consulting industry follow this.

What a stupid, "easy" attitude to take. For god's sakes: if you wanted to quit, just quit. Don't make everyone else quit so you have an "easy time" of it...What is wrong with people!?
